Florida Saltwater Reports, Detailed Fishing Reports

Please enjoy our fishing reports and please post your own report for your state or region. Doesn't matter where you live or what region you fish as we try to display fishing reports for all types and styles of fishing. Fly fishing, surf fishing, wade fishing, to fishing 100 miles offshore in the Gulf Stream off the mid-atlantic coast are just some of the types of fishing reports we display. And that was just the saltwater fishing which is far outnumbered by all the types of freshwater fishing reports we see. We get freshwater reports for bass fishing in Mississippi to mountain stream fishing for trout in Colorado to Salmon fishing in the Great Lakes. Speaking of the Great Lakes, Michigan seems to be very popular for charter boat Captains and their fishing reports.

Some anglers just like to read certain fishing reports from exotic locales and dream about the day they will be able to take a fishing trip to whatever fishing paradise they are thinking about. For instance we have Key West fishing reports that tell us about extreme light tackle fishing and the excitiment of fighting a 100 pound tarpon in 3 feet of water while he sometimes walks on water during his effort to escape the pull of the angler and his rod n reel. Key West provides plenty of fishing action but for some it is not a likely destination so they read the reports and dream about a Key West fishing trip. Who knows? In time maybe those anglers that dream about fishing in a far off paradise will get their wish eventually and instead of their own Florida Saltwater Reports they will write a report about their tropical island fishing vacation.

Fishing Report:

Spent the past two days fishing with one of my regular client\'s Kent S from Ohio.
Kent has been a Freshwater customer of mine for over 10 years but made the trip
down to FL this week to do some Nearshore fishing with me out of the Cape.

Tarpon was our main target fish for the two days.We found Tarpon both days
just off the beach in 20 to 25 ft of water but had trouble getting them to eat
and the few we did have eat came unbuttoned very quick.
Between Tarpon bites there was plenty of action with BIG JACKS.
Kent caught the biggest Jack I have ever seen.Length 47 inches Girth 26 Inches.
Kent had the fight of his life as it took 70 minutes to bring this fish boat side
on lite tackle.I am guessing this fish weighed close to 50 pounds Kent also
landed three other Jacks just a little smaller.Along with the Jacks came
Black Tip Sharks by the dozens and a hand full of Big Bonita weighing between
10 and 15 pounds. It was steady action both days and beautiful weather for
sight fishing along the East Coast of Florida. We found Pogies each morning
and with one throw of the cast net each day we were set with all the livebait
we needed for the entire days fishing.

I still have a few days open this month so if you are looking for some reel screaming
action on the East Coast of Florida please give me a call.
