North Carolina Saltwater, Detailed Fishing Reports

Please enjoy our fishing reports and please post your own report for your state or region. Doesn't matter where you live or what region you fish as we try to display fishing reports for all types and styles of fishing. Fly fishing, surf fishing, wade fishing, to fishing 100 miles offshore in the Gulf Stream off the mid-atlantic coast are just some of the types of fishing reports we display. And that was just the saltwater fishing which is far outnumbered by all the types of freshwater fishing reports we see. We get freshwater reports for bass fishing in Mississippi to mountain stream fishing for trout in Colorado to Salmon fishing in the Great Lakes. Speaking of the Great Lakes, Michigan seems to be very popular for charter boat Captains and their fishing reports.

Some anglers just like to read certain fishing reports from exotic locales and dream about the day they will be able to take a fishing trip to whatever fishing paradise they are thinking about. For instance we have Key West fishing reports that tell us about extreme light tackle fishing and the excitiment of fighting a 100 pound tarpon in 3 feet of water while he sometimes walks on water during his effort to escape the pull of the angler and his rod n reel. Key West provides plenty of fishing action but for some it is not a likely destination so they read the reports and dream about a Key West fishing trip. Who knows? In time maybe those anglers that dream about fishing in a far off paradise will get their wish eventually and instead of their own North Carolina Saltwater they will write a report about their tropical island fishing vacation.

7-6-10

Today we went after big fish and big fish only!!! We were fishing with Doug Jones, Wirt Cook, Steve McIntire, and Eric McIntire from Parkersburg,WV. Kris Warne from Georgetown,KY. and Drew McIntire from Lexington,KY.

We started off with AJ\'s and we found plenty of them, but they didn\'t realize they were supposed to bite. We did hook up a few, but they managed to pull the hooks and swim free.

However, we did get a real nice Cobia around 40 pounds. That\'s not a bad trade for a Jack that I\'ll take any day!!!

I kept moving offshore until we finally hit a spot that we usually have good luck with the AJ\'s at and today they bit here as well.

But, again they pulled the hooks. And again, we had a very nice trade off with a big African Pompano. And again, a good swap in anybody\'s book!!!

And of course, we got our limit of Atlantic Sharp nose. No, we didn\'t get a big AJ to the boat today, but we had several chances but were reminded again as to why it\'s called fishin\' and not catchin\', as far as the AJ\'s go anyway!!

But Cobia and African Pompano sure take the sting out of all the hooks pulling free on the Jacks!!!

The seas were flat calm and the comraderey on the boat today was second to none. What more could you ask for?

Two 1/2 days on the beach tomorrow. Haven\'t fished close in in several days, so check back tomorrow night and see if we put the puzzle together!!!

Till next time, Thanks for stopping by and may God Bless Everyone!!!!

Fish On!!!!
Capt\'s. Butch & Chris Foster
